A Family Dream from the Himalayas to London

In 2011, our parents turned their dream into a reality by opening Kailash Momo in the heart of Woolwich. After working as healthcare providers for the elderly, they used their savings, along with borrowed support from family and friends, to open the restaurant with one goal: to share the authentic flavors of Nepalese and Tibetan cuisine with the local community.

Through highs and lows, including the challenges of COVID-19, we’ve remained resilient thanks to the unwavering support of our loyal customers and community. Today, Kailash Momo stands as a testament to our family’s passion for providing affordable, quality food rooted in the traditions of the Himalayas.

Heritage

Kailash Momo was founded to share the love of Tibetan and Nepalese cuisine with the local Woolwich Community and the World. The name “Kailash” comes from the Kailash mountain range in the Himalayas, which is not only a sacred place for Hindus and Buddhists, but also a symbol of the rich cultural heritage of Tibet and Nepal

The restaurant specializes in momos, a traditional Tibetan/Nepalese dish that consists of dumplings filled with various ingredients such as Chicken, Vegetables, and Mutton. The momos at Kailash Momo are handmade daily using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and are served with our Fresh homemade Chilli Sauce.
